THI’s Board of Directors establishes operational policies and procedures to optimize efficient and cost-effective means to achieve the Vision and Mission Statements of THI. The Board consists entirely of volunteers committed to this task. Its internal organization has an Executive Committee and several focused committees, the membership of which is not limited to Board members.
Vickie Jones, PresidentVickie Jones, Pharm.D., practices pharmacy in Tennessee. She has found that HANDLE is the easiest to use and most effective "non-therapy" to maximize her son's abilities. She has served on the Board since 2008. |
Cathy StingleyCathy Stingley, European Regional Education Director, and Certified HANDLE Practitioner in Homer, Alaska, has been affiliated with THI for 13 years. She has a degree in education, a background in mental health and 10 years as an emergency medical technician. Cathy is certified to teach all levels of THI courses, and represents Level IV Instructors on the Board’s Education Committee. |
Marlene Suliteanu, SecretaryNow retired, Marlene brought HANDLE to southern California as a Practitioner, Intern Supervisor and Instructor. Previous career was in occupational therapy. She joined THI’s Board in ’09 after the death of her sister, Judith Bluestone, creator of HANDLE and founder of THI. |
Tamara Nathan, TreasurerA Certified HANDLE Screener and an established remedial tutor in London, England, Tamara also serves as Treasurer and Acting Secretary of the HANDLE European Steering Committee. She joined THI’s Board in 2012. |
Janet OliverJanet has a master’s degree in Human Development, is certified as a HANDLE Practitioner, Instructor and Intern Supervisor, and is specialized in reflex integration. She has been affiliated with THI for over ten years. She joined the Board at the beginning of 2013. Janet chairs the Roles and Responsibilities Committee. |
May Walters, Operations ManagerPast President of the Board and Administrator of THI, LLC in Seattle from 2004-9, May has the skills and commitment to structure efficiency into all THI office operations. On her own initiative she is studying child development for updates of her prior career in early childhood education and alternative school administration in California. May is certified as a HANDLE Screener and Intern. |
Katie Penque, Community Relations CoordinatorKatie earned her credential as a Practitioner after graduate studies in psychology. Her therapy practice serves the NY-metro area; she also owns a yoga studio with her husband. With the experience of those two businesses and her intent to bring THI into 21st century marketing, Katie takes on the challenge of creating a more well-known public image of HANDLE, and more successful provider-Affiliates. |
